Rifle Places Second at GARC Championships OXFORD, Miss. — Despite a solid 588 air rifle score from sophomore Tom Csenge, the Kentucky rifle team fell short of the Great American Rifle Conference Championship, placing second with a 4633 score, short of Army?s winning 4651 total, over the weekend in Oxford, Miss.
Kentucky (9-2) competed against the GARC, a conference that includes four of the eventual eight NCAA participants. In the combined categories Ashley Jackson finished with an eighth-place 1162 (586 AR, 576 SB) and Csenge (588 AR, 572 SB) posted a ninth-place 1160. Andrew Roland finished in 10th place overall with a 1159 (581 AR, 578 SB).
The Wildcats now begin preparing for the NCAA Championships, held March 14-15.
