CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- Freshman Kentucky tennis player Lauren Meier (Woodstock, Ga.) captured the singles title on the final day of the Kitty Harrison Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

Meier defeated UNC’s Miami’s Romy Farah, 6-4, 6-2 in the final match.

The tournament marked Kentucky’s final fall action. The Wildcats begin the 2008 spring season on Jan. 19 when they play host to Marshall and Winthrop in a doubleheader at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center beginning at Noon EST.
