LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Following Saturday?s 45-37 loss to Florida, the Kentucky football team remains in the top 15 in the national polls. This is Kentucky?s sixth consecutive week in the national polls, the longest streak in 30 years. Here is UK?s standing in the various polls:

  • No. 14 in The Associated Press poll (No. 8 last week)
  • No. 15 in the USA Today/Coaches poll (No. 13 last week)
  • No. 15 in the Harris Interactive poll (No. 11 last week)
  • No. 14 in the Bowl Championship Series ranking (No. 7 last week)

Kentucky is now 6-2 on the season, 2-2 in the Southeastern Conference. The Wildcats play host to Mississippi State on Sat. Oct. 27 at 12:30 p.m. The game will be a live regional telecast on Lincoln Financial Sports.

M. Johnson, Fidler Out: On his Sunday afternoon teleconference, Coach Rich Brooks announced a pair of upcoming surgeries for the Wildcats.

Sophomore linebacker Micah Johnson will have arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Monday and will miss the Mississippi State game. His status will be on a week-to-week basis beginning with the Vanderbilt game.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Will Fidler has a torn labrum in his shoulder. He will have surgery this week and be out for the remainder of the season.
