LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky?s Sept. 15 football game vs. Louisville has been selected for live national telecast on ESPN Classic. The game also will be telecast live on WKYT in Lexington and WHAS in Louisville. Game time has been set for 7:30 p.m. in Commonwealth Stadium.

This will be the sixth-consecutive season that the game will be shown on an ESPN affiliate. ESPN Classic reaches 63 million homes in the United States. The game has been on live national or regional television 10 out of 14 times since the renewal of the series in 1994.

Under certain conditions, Southeastern Conference television contracts permit live ?point-to-point? over-the-air telecasts in the home markets of the competing teams. This enabled UK officials to arrange to have the game also shown over-the-air in Lexington and Louisville. WKYT and WHAS will carry the ESPN Classic telecast.

?ESPN is a great SEC partner, and we?re happy to gain another national television exposure on one of their outlets,? UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart said. ?We?re also glad that the Central Kentucky and Louisville areas will see the game live over-the-air.?

Kentucky now has at least two games that will be nationally televised on an ESPN affiliate this season. UK?s game at South Carolina on Oct. 4 will be a Thursday night telecast on ESPN. More live TV opportunities will arise beginning with games of Sept. 22, when the SEC networks ? CBS, ESPN, and Lincoln Financial Sports ? begin their 12-day advance selections.

Tentative Times Announced for Home Games: Game times have been planned for the 2007 Kentucky home football schedule. Please note that these times are tentative and will change if the game is selected for live network television. Beginning with games of Sept. 22, network TV games are selected 12 days in advance.
