COLUMBUS, Ga. — A week after claiming an international title in smallbore and air rifle, UK freshman shooter Tom Csenge (SIN-ge) secured the junior three-position smallbore championship in USA Shooting National Championship competition, held in Columbus, Ga.

?We had some great results in men?s smallbore competition,? Kentucky head coach Harry Mullins said. ?We did not have the best scores in air rifle but we had some really good performances. Tom won the junior national championship in three position after having two solid days and a good final round of competition. He is such a hard worker and is really figuring out how to be a premier shooter. I am really proud of all the shooters for their hard work, even though we did not get what we wanted in air rifle, I think we learned a lot. This competition should really help us out next season.?

Last week in the Czech Republic, Csenge won the international smallbore and air rifle title in the 17th Meeting of the Shooting Hopes, coming from behind to claim the smallbore championship and holding off a late surge to secure the air rifle title.

Competition in Columbus, Ga. continues through Monday.
