SEA ISLAND, Ga. ? The University of Kentucky men?s golf team gained a spot in the team standings to move to 10th at the Southeastern Conference Championships in Sea Island, Ga. The Wildcats shot a team score of 293 in the second round to bring their two-day total to 605 (+45).

Tennessee leads the SEC with a score of 584 (301-283), followed by Alabama who is second at 586 (298-288). Florida (304-284) and Ole Miss (295-293) are tied for third with scores of 588, while Auburn rounds out the top five with a total of 592 (304-288).

Auburn?s Patton Kizzire is now leading the individual standings with a two-day total of 141. Kizzire shot a two-over par 72 on day one, but followed that with a second-round 69 to stand at one-over par to lead the pack.

Junior Cale Barr fired a pair of birdies on day two and finished at two-over par 72 to jump 17 spots in the individual standings. Barr now leads the Cats and is tied for 22nd overall with a total of 150 (78-72). Fellow junior Brad Doster had the best round by any Wildcat on Saturday with three birdies and a pair of bogeys to finish at one-over par 71. Doster is now tied for 29th with a two-round score of 151 (80-71). Freshman Alex Volpenhein carded three birdies and five bogeys to finish at 152 (76-76) and tied for 36th overall. Sophomore Andy Winings is also tied for 36th after shooting a day-two 74 to stand at 152 (78-74) through the first two rounds of play. Senior Tyler Wilson rounds out the scoring for Kentucky with a two-day total of 158 (80-78).

Play continues on Sunday, Apr. 22, with the third and final round at Sea Island Golf Club?s Seaside Course. The Wildcats are set to tee off at 8:50 a.m.
