LEXINGTON, Ky.?The University of Kentucky women?s golf team will appear in its final regular season tournament beginning today at noon.
Kentucky will be among the field of the Indiana Invitational, originally slated for 54-holes. The tournament format has changed due to chilly temperatures. Golfers will play just 18 holes today beginning at noon, with another round of 18 slated to begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
The tournament field includes: Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Western Michigan, UNLV, Oregon, Penn State, Illinois, Illinois State, Iowa, Iowa State, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Ball State, Northwestern and Texas. The field will play the Crooked Stick Golf Club, a par-72 course (5,924 yards).
The Blue and White are led by their freshman-sensation Erica Still. The rookie has led the team in the scoring in its last four tournaments, and leads the team in scoring average and birdies. Senior Marissa Muir notched the team?s first eagle of the season in the first round of the Lady Seahawk Invitational. Fellow senior, Katie Johnson had an outstanding tournament in her last outing with three rounds in the 70s led by a second round 75.
