LEXINGTON, Ky.?The University of Kentucky women?s golf team aims to defend its crown from a season ago when they hit the links at the Lady Seahawk Invitational March 26-27.
A year ago Kentucky rallied from 11 strokes down on the final day of competition to win its only tournament of the 2005-06 season. Kentucky had two players finish in the top-10 bested by Beth Felts? tie for second place.
UK hopes to see similar results this week when they begin play in Wallace, N.C., on Monday morning to play 36 holes and then follow it with 18 on Tuesday.
Freshman Erica Still continues to pace the Blue and White, as she has finished at the top of Kentucky?s scoring list in the last three tournaments.
The rookie has led the team in scoring in five of the team?s eight tournaments this season and holds steady at the top of all statistical categories.
Kentucky has shot some of its best rounds in recent weeks, including its best round of the season a second-round 306 in the Peggy Bell Kirk Classic.
