LEXINGTON ? The 22nd-ranked Kentucky women?s tennis team put the finishing touches on another perfect weekend with a 6-1 thrashing of Ole Miss on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Boone Tennis Stadium.

The Wildcats, who improved to 15-1 and 5-0 in the SEC, coasted to their first four points, easily clinching the match early before earning their final two points in three-set contests. Ole Miss dropped to 4-12 on the year and 0-5 in the conference.

?I?m so proud of the way we competed today,? Kentucky head coach Carlos Drada said. ?Everyone contributed to this win and its truly a team win. Our team keeps improving with each match and we?re very happy to get another quality win tonight.?

As is becoming custom, UK rolled through doubles to take a 1-0 lead, sweeping all three matches. So far this year, Kentucky has lost the doubles point just twice.

Once in singles, Ole Miss evened the match at No. 1 as 97th-ranked Ilona Somers downed Kim Coventry. After that, it was all UK. Joelle Schwenk and Carolina Escamilla clinched victories with in a minute of each other on Nos. 2 and 4 to make it 3-1.

By clubbing Nika Koukhartchouk, 6-2, 6-0, 122nd-ranked Schwenk ran her win streak to nine ? all coming in straight sets ? and has now won 18 of her last 19 matches dating back to the fall. She?s won a set at one or love in 12 of her 16 dual matches this year. Escamilla won for the fourth-consecutive outing, taking down Kseniia Tokarieva, 6-3, 6-1.

Whitney Spencer clinched the match on court six with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Carlin Cochran. The win ran her dual record to 10-2 in her freshman campaign.

With the match result no longer in doubt, Sarah Woestmann?s opponent, Kseniia Tokarieva retired in the first game of the third set. The two had split the first two sets with Tokarieva winning the first 6-4 only to have Woestmann take complete control and win the second 6-1. The win improved Woestmann to 15-1 in her career and she?s now won 16 sets this year at one or love.

That left court five, where UK?s Jessica Giuggioli was down a set to Preethi Subramanian. However, she rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (2) victory for the final margin.

Kentucky returns to action on Friday when it takes on top-ranked Georgia in Athens, Ga.
