MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.?The University of Kentucky men?s swimming and diving team?s season ended today at the 2007 NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Junior Will Vietti was the lone Wildcat in competition today and tapped in 25th place in the 200-breaststroke in the morning?s preliminary heat. Vietti clocked a time of 1:59.00, after entering the Championships with a 16th seed time of 1:57.65.

Vietti?s swim concludes the 2007 season for the Blue and White. Kentucky concludes the Championships having earned one point off of Vietti?s 16th place showing in the 100-breast on Friday.

UK loses only one swimmer, Eric Weber, to graduation this season. SEC silver medalist Vietti, and the likes of sophomores Mickey Malul, the other NCAA participant, Warren Grobbelaar, and freshmen Eric McGinnis, Alex Forbes and Eric Greene all return to coach Gary Conelly in the fall of 2007. Diving Coach Mike Lyden will return sophomore Justin Smith, a 2007 Zone participant.
