The Kentucky men?s golf team is currently 17th after two rounds of play at the 28th Annual Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga. The Wildcats have a team score of 602 (304-298), while Georgia leads the 18-team field with a two-round total of 564 (287-277).
Georgia also leads in the individual standings after Chris Kirk posted a two-round total of 138 (70-68) to lead the field.
Junior Cale Barr leads Kentucky and is tied for 36th overall with a score of 149. Barr fired a 76 in the opening round and followed it with a one-over par 73 behind the strength of three birdies in the second. Brad Doster carded the Wildcats? best score of the day with an even par 72 in the second round. The junior recorded four birdies in his second round and is tied for 81st with a total score of 156 (84-72).
Sophomore Andy Winings is 43rd in the individual standings with a score of 150 (75-75), while freshman Derek Oldham is 74th after posting a two-round score of 154 (76-78). Freshman Alex Volpenhein rounds out the scoring for the Wildcats with a total of 157 (77-80).
The Wildcats return to action Sunday for the third and final round. UK is set to tee off at 8 a.m.
