LEXINGTON ? After posting the third highest score in school history over the weekend, the Kentucky gymnastics team returned to the national rankings on Monday and is among the country?s top 25 teams in all four events.

The Wildcats hold their highest ranking on vault where the team has posted the top two scores of head coach Mo Mitchell?s tenure in the past two weeks. With a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 48.935, UK ranks 20th nationally. Freshman Emilie Rymer has led the charge with back-to-back vault titles, both times recording a score of 9.9 or better.

Kentucky?s second-best event has been the floor, where a number of gymnasts have been spectacular of late. Last week, freshman Hillary Ferguson led the way with a career high 9.925, her fifth straight meet of 9.85 or better. In breaking the 49 barrier each of the last two meets, UK has climbed to No. 22 in the nation with an RQS of 48.855.

After hitting a 49.000 on beam last week ? just the fifth 49 in school history ? Kentucky jumped to No. 24 in the beam rankings with a 48.475 RQS. Sophomore Heather Hite has been the anchor, leading UK on the apparatus for five straight meets, including a career best 9.95 over the weekend at Texas Women?s University.

The Wildcats also landed in the top 25 on bars, their 48.660 RQS ranking 23rd. Senior Krystle Cook has been the leader on the event and won the bars title a week ago with a 9.95, which included a perfect 10 from one judge. Fellow senior Lucy Burgin has been consistently good as well, following Cook last week with a 9.825.

Kentucky aims to continue its momentum this weekend with another quad meet, this time at Arizona and featuring Penn State and Texas Women?s University.
