MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.?Junior Heather Bradford claimed a career-best and Kentucky record when she tapped in an astounding time of 52.79 in the 100-butterfly in tonight?s finals at the 2007 NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Minnesota.

Bradford appeared in her career-first finals heat in her marquee event this evening. She earned her first ever individual All-America nomination to add to her nod while on the 200-free relay team. The Groveport, Ohio, native earlier this week claimed her first-ever individual All-America honorable mention award when she placed 16th in the 50-freestyle.

This has been arguably the junior?s best collegiate meet. She has bettered her top times in both individual events while scoring points for the Wildcats for the first time as an individual.

Kentucky stands in 12th place after two nights of competition with 66 points. Indiana sits in 11th with 81.5 points. Arizona is atop the leaderboard, just ahead of Auburn.

The Blue and White return to action tomorrow, the final day of the NCAA Championships. Heather Bradford and Jenny Bradford will take part in the 100-freestyle, and they will be joined by Kristina Sledge and Lauren Willis in the 400-freestyle relay.

Senior Taryn Ignacio will appear in her final event when she sets out to defend her crown as national champion in the platform diving event. Kari Retrum will also be in competition for a top-eight finish on tower.
