LEXINGTON ? The 23rd-ranked Kentucky women?s tennis team returns home for the first time in two weeks on Friday at 3 p.m. when it hosts No. 32 LSU at the Boone Tennis Center.

The Wildcats have won four straight matches and, at 10-1, are off to the program?s best start in the last two decades. The current win streak includes a 2-0 start in Southeastern Conference play as UK swept Auburn and Alabama last weekend on the road.

The match was originally scheduled for 4 p.m., but was moved up an hour earlier in the week after Friday?s weather was predicted to be sunny with temperatures in the 60s. The change allows Kentucky to play outdoors at home for the first time this season.

Dating back to last year, UK has won nine straight home matches, including a perfect 6-0 mark this year. The streak is spans an entire calendar year.

Kentucky has gotten tremendous production from two of its freshmen in the lineup as Sarah Woestmann and Whitney Spencer are a combined 16-2 in dual action this year. Woestmann was a perfect 10-0 to begin her career before finally falling last week. Meanwhile, Spencer has won four straight and seven of her last eight.

Senior Joelle Schwenk, ranked 87th nationally, has been just as effective in the top half of the lineup. She?s 10-1 in dual action and has won 13 of her last 14 overall. She, along with doubles partner Kim Coventry, lead UK?s stellar doubles lineup. The pair ranked second in the nation and is 16-3 this year.

Kentucky has won the doubles point in nine of 11 matches and its teams are 24-9 in dual play.

LSU is 6-3 on the season and 1-1 in the SEC. The Lady Tigers knocked off No. 24 Tennessee last weekend before falling to 12th-ranked Georgia. Last year, UK downed LSU 6-1 in Baton Rouge.
