Palmyra, Pa. — The Kentucky rifle team outgunned Great American Rifle Conference foe N.C. State (4631-4503) Saturday in Palmyra, Pa. to remain unbeaten in conference play and improve to 10-1 on the season.

?I thought we came out and put up a solid performance considering the layoff since our last competition,? Kentucky head coach Harry Mullins said. ?It was a good experience in increasing out knowledge base and competing under different conditions.?

Kentucky was led by several individuals, including freshmen Jen Pason and Thomas Csenge. The duo have performed splendid all season and are battling it out to see who will capture GARC Rookie of the Year honors having played an instrumental part in the squad?s success. Pason captured the match high score in smallbore with a 8581 and senior captain Amy Sowash also posted a match best in air rifle with a 587.

?Overall, I am not disappointed after today?s shooting,? Mullins said. ?We made some bad shots but we also made some good shots. We just need to focus on making more good shots then bad shots tomorrow when we face a very good Army squad.?

Kentucky looks to close out conference play with an unblemished record when they face off with Army Sunday in Palmyra, Pa.
