Kentucky cornerback Trevard Lindley has received another first-team Freshman All-America honor, this one coming from The Sporting News.
Lindley (Hiram, Ga.) ranks third in the Southeastern Conference in pass breakups with 12. He had one interception, a last-minute pickoff that sealed Kentucky’s win over Georgia. He made 50 tackles during the season, doing a good job in run support, and had one fumble recovery.
Earlier, he was named first-team Freshman All-America by Rivals.com and to the SEC All-Freshman Team by SEC coaches and The Sporting News. The Kentucky coaching staff chose him as UK?s Most Outstanding First-Year Player.
Freshman All-American for Fourth Consecutive Year: Kentucky has had a Freshman All-American all four years under Coach Rich Brooks.
