PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. ? Five of the Kentucky women?s tennis players open singles play at the SEC Fall Championships on Friday morning.

With Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk participating at the ITA National Indoors Championships, the rest of the Wildcat squad is competing against conference foes.

Sophomore Jessica Giugglioli represents UK in Flight A and has a tough draw. She faces top-seeded and 17th-ranked Amanda Fish of Vanderbilt in round one. Fellow sophomore Carolina Escamilla also drew a Commodore in the first round as she?ll square off with Catherine Newman in Flight B.

In the Flight C draw, senior Caroline Winebrenner meets Tennessee?s Zsofia Zubor in her opening match of the championships.

Kentucky has two players competing in Flight D in freshmen Christine Johnston and Whitney Spencer. Johnston faces Melissa Hoffmeister of Arkansas in round one while Spencer meets LSU?s Sloane Mathis.
