The Kentucky women?s basketball team has made numerous changes to its 2006-07 schedule previously released earlier this month, head coach Mickie DeMoss announced Wednesday. Several dates and times have been altered to accommodate scheduling conflicts and the Big Blue Sports Network has announced its broadcast schedule for the upcoming campaign. Throw out your old schedules, because the following changes have been made:
An exhibition game has been added on Tuesday, Nov. 7 as the Wildcats will take on NAIA member Shawnee State (Portsmouth, Ohio) at 7 p.m. ET in Memorial Coliseum.
Numerous tip-off times have been changed on the upcoming slate:
Dec. 3 ? 1 p.m. ET: ?The Battle of the Bluegrass? with intrastate rival Louisville has changed from 2 p.m. to 1 p.m. ET in Freedom Hall on Dec. 3. Dec. 19 ? 11:30 a.m. ET: Kentucky and Mississippi Valley State will square off at 11:30 a.m. ET in a Business Day Special on Dec. 19 in Memorial Coliseum. Fans that bring a valid business card will be admitted free of charge based on availability. Jan. 11 ? 9 p.m. ET: – Kentucky and Alabama will now meet at 9 p.m. ET in Tuscaloosa on Jan. 11 to accommodate Fox Sports Net South. Feb. 18 ? Noon ET: – UK?s Senior Day contest with Arkansas will tip-off at Noon on Feb. 18 in Rupp Arena to accommodate the Big Blue Sports Network (TV). The game was previously slated at 2 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum.
A change of venue for a pair of contests:
The game with Vanderbilt on Feb. 1 will be played in Memorial Coliseum instead of Rupp Arena. Feb. 18 vs. Arkansas will be played in Rupp Arena instead of Memorial Coliseum.
The Wildcats added a pre-conference tournament to their schedule on Dec. 29-30:
Kentucky will participate in the Wells Fargo New Year?s Classic in San Antonio, Texas, Dec. 29-30. The Wildcats will face Kent State at 6 p.m. ET on Dec. 29 and will conclude tournament play vs. Memphis at 6 p.m. ET on Dec. 30.
The re-match with Detroit has been moved from Thursday, Nov. 30 up to Wed., Nov. 29. Tip-off is still scheduled for 7 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum.
Five games will be televised by the Big Blue Sports Network. The games also will be shown on FSN South.
