CINCINNATI, Ohio- Saturday proved to be a tough day for the University of Kentucky men?s tennis team as the three players in action at the Cincinnati Intercollegiate tournament went winless on the day.

Sophomores Greg Anderson and Kyle Virgin and freshman Alex Lampropoulos all played two matches.

Anderson took Michigan State?s John Allare to three sets 6-1, 5-7, 8-6. He fell in two sets to Wisconsin?s Mike Muskievicz.

Virgin earned a first set victory over Xavier?s Adam Shaeffer 6-2, but then dropped the remaining two sets 6-4, 11-9. He fell in two sets to Shaeffer?s teammate J.T. Torbeck, 6-1, 6-2.

Lambropoulos, playing his second day as a collegiate player, fell in consecutive sets to Wisconsin?s Mike Bisnow, 6-0, 6-2. The freshman claimed the first set in a match with Indiana?s Mak Kendall, 7-6. The Hoosier followed with two sets of his own, 8-6, 6-2.

Kentucky resumes action in the Cincinnati Intercollegiate on Sunday.
