ATHENS, Ga..? Sophomore men?s tennis player Bruno Agostinelli earned a two-set victory to advance to the second round of the consolation bracket of the Division I singles play at the Southern Intercollegiate Saturday.

Agostinelli downed UT-Martin?s Stephen Bruwer 6-3, 6-3. In addition to his first singles win of the year, the sophomore Wildcat paired with classmate Shane Collins to advance in the first-round of the doubles bracket. Collins and Agostinelli used an 8-6 win over Louisville?s Chris Herrlinger and Richard Rotaru to continue play.

Collins fell in the second round of the Division II bracket to Lander?s Joakim Karlsson in straight-sets 6-3, 6-2.

The final Cat in action, Greg Anderson lost in three sets to Charleston-Southern?s Quentin Guichard. Anderson took the first set 6-4, but then lost 6-0 in the second set. Guichard prevailed in the final set 10-2.

Agostinelli returns to the court Sunday against the Citadel?s Daniel Dosseton at 8 a.m. The Collins-Agostinelli tandem will also return to the doubles court Sunday.
