LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Members of the University of Kentucky baseball team attended the opening ceremony for the Childrens’ Miracle League at Shillito Park Thursday night in Lexington.

The Childrens’ Miracle League is a baseball league which is designed to give handicapped children the opportunity to compete. The league, which is sponsored by among others Toyota, opened Thursday night at Shillito Park.

The field is completely safe for children to play on, equipped with a full synthetic surface. The bases and mounds are level with the surface and the facility is constructed in a way to emphasis the safety of the participating children.

The league, whose motto is ?Every child deserves a chance to play baseball?, exists in only a few locations across the country.
