Statement from University of Kentucky Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart following crash of Comair Flight 5191:

“The Wildcat family has a heavy heart today. Jon Hooker represented the University of Kentucky and its baseball program with dignity and character during his time as a student-athlete. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jon and Scarlett’s family and loved ones. Those same prayers are also with others in our community who feel a sense of loss today. UK Athletics is proud to be a part of Lexington and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and we hurt when our community hurts. The pride and dedication Kentuckians have in this state will be tremendous assets during this period of grief.”
