IRVINE, Calif.?Rising junior swimmers Jenny Bradford and Will Vietti missed the cut to advance to the finals of the 2006 ConocoPhillips National Championships in Irvine, Calif. Saturday.

Bradford tapped in 51st place in the 100-meter freestyle in a time of 57.59. Olympic gold-medalist Natalie Coughlin earned the top time of the preliminary round with a time of 54.19. Ninety-five swimmers competed in the 100-free.

Vietti captured a personal-best time in the 200-meter breaststroke clocking in a time of 2:19.63. He placed second in his heat, but finished the afternoon in 21st place. Brandon Hansen claimed the best time of the afternoon swimming in 2:10.01.

Saturday is the final day of competition at the National Championships which serve as the selection meet for five international meets. Chosen top performers will be added to one or more of the following events: 2006 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships, 2007 FINA World Championships, 2007 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool, 2007 World University Games and 2007 Pan American Games.
