LEXINGTON, Ky. ? The Kentucky swimming and diving team gathered for its annual postseason banquet Saturday evening in the President?s Room at Commonwealth Stadium to conclude its season by honoring those who have helped make this season one of the best in school history.

The Wildcats celebrated the team?s accomplishments, including junior Taryn Ignacio winning the school?s first-ever national championship, and handed out team awards.

The festivities kicked off with the team?s 10 seniors addressing their teammates before passing the baton to head coach Gary Conelly who emceed the event. During the evening, 16 awards were handed out and the 2006-07 captains were named. Current junior Kari Retrum and sophomores Lindsay Myhre, Grant Nelson and Will Vietti will take over the reigns as captains from departing seniors Daniel Farnham, Steven Manley and Brennan Moore and junior Nikia Deveaux.
