LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Kentucky golfer Matt Kohn has been named to the Southeastern Conference Good Works Team, it was announced today.

Kohn, a senior from Longwood, Florida, has worked with Kentucky?s Cats Cultivating Character program where he taught character development lessons and engaged in character-building group activities with third grade classes at Russell Cave Elementary. He has also worked with program sales to benefit Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

Kohn was recently named to the Frank G. Ham Society of Character, which recognizes those student-athletes that have gone above and beyond to fulfill the five commitments of the CHAMPS/Life Skills program. These five commitments are academic excellence, athletic excellence, career development, personal development and community service.

The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Good Works Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Over the weekend, Kohn led his Wildcats to a fourth place finish at the SEC Championships in Sea Island, Ga. Kohn tied for 14th with a three-day score of 213 (72-68-73). The Cats now prepare for the NCAA Central Regional which will take place May 18-20 in Chardon, Ohio.
