ST. SIMON?S ISLAND, Ga. ? The University of Kentucky men?s golf team fired a second-round 276 (-4) to jump five spots at the Southeastern Conference Championships to hold fourth place after two rounds of play at Sea Island Golf Club. The Wildcats fired the second-best round of the afternoon and are now fourth with a two-day total of 568 (292-276), just 10 strokes behind Georgia (276-282) who continues to lead the field.

The No. 1-ranked Bulldogs have a one-stroke lead over Florida who is in second place with a total team score of 559 (285-274). Alabama is third with a total of 562 (280-282), followed by the Wildcats. Auburn round s out the top five with a score of 574 (289-285).

Alabama?s Matthew Swan leads the individual standings with a five-under par 135 (68-67). Georgia?s Kevin Kisner and Brett Stegmaier from Florida are both three strokes behind the leader with identical scores of 138.

Senior Matt Kohn and sophomore Brad Doster each fired two-under par 68s for the Wildcats in the second round. Kohn improved his standing by 14 spots behind the strength of four second-round birdies and is now tied for fifth with a two-day total of 140 (72-68). Doster also tallied four birdies in the second round and is currently tied for 35th with a total of 147 (79-68).

Junior Tyler Wilson is also tied for fifth after shooting even par for the second straight day to bring his total score to 140 (70-70). Wilson had two birdies and eagled the par-four 15th hole to climb four spots in the individual standings and into the top five.

Freshman Dan Woltman made par in round two to bring his total to 143 (73-70), while fellow first-year Wildcat Andy Winings rounds out the scoring for Kentucky with a total score of 151 (77-74).
