Men's Golf

The University of Kentucky men?s golf team will play its final tournament of the spring before the Southeastern Conference championships as it heads to NC State?s Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate in Raleigh, N.C. The tournament is scheduled to be played April 7-8 over MacGregor Downs Country Club’s 6,787 yard, par-72 Willard Byrd layout.

Seven of the 14 teams, including the No. 27-ranked Cats, are currently among the top 50 college teams in the nation and four others are in the top 100.

No. 14-ranked Tulsa, No. 18 and twice defending champion Duke and No. 19 North Carolina lead the field. Other teams entered include No. 32 NC State, No. 37 Kent State, No. 43 Houston, No. 71 Virginia Tech, No. 65 Georgia Southern, No. 66 Virginia, No. 74 Vanderbilt, No. 106 Rice, No. 109 Kansas and No. 134 UNC-Wilmington.

The 54-hole event includes 36 holes of play Friday, April 7, with the first round starting with tee times on the first and tenth tees beginning at 7:33 a.m. The second round is set for tee times beginning at 12:33 p.m. that day. The final 18 holes are schedule for Saturday, April 8, with tees times beginning at 8:00 a.m. and running through 10 a.m.

Viewing of all three days of the tournament, including a Thursday morning practice round, is open to the public at no charge.
