AWENDAW, S.C. ? The University of Kentucky men?s golf team slipped six spots today, Mar. 27, after shooting a second-round 295 to finish +11 for the day and tied for 13th overall at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Collegiate Invitational. The Wildcats have a team total of 587 (+19) through two rounds of play.

Wake Forest continues to lead the 15-team field with a two-day score of 552 (275-277). South Carolina stands 10 strokes behind Wake with a score of 562 (279-283), followed by Augusta State at 565 (296-269). UCF and North Carolina round out the top five with scores of 571 (289-282) and 574 (288-286), respectively.

Wake?s Webb Simpson shot a six-under par 65 to take over the top spot in the medalist standings with a total score of 133 (68-65).

Freshmen Dan Woltman and Andy Winings lead the Wildcats and are both tied for 26th overall with totals of 145. Woltman shot a second-round 73, while Winings was four-over with a round of 75. Brad Doster shot the best UK round of the day with his one-over par 72 to tie with teammate Matt Kohn for 52nd overall. Kohn fired a second-round 76 to match Doster?s two-day total of 149 (+7). Mark Erlewine rounds out the scoring for Kentucky with a two-day score of 152 (+10) which ties him for 67th in the individual ranks.

The tournament wraps up on Tuesday, Mar. 28, with the third and final round at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.
