Sophomore Crissy Cannon has been named UK Gymnast of the Week (3/13) by the coaching staff. Cannon had a tremendous weekend for the Cats with two second place finishes and a third in UK?s back-to-back tri-meet victories. In the win against Central Michigan and Rhode Island, Cannon took second on beam with a career-high 9.825. Against Ball State and Air Force, the Lenoir City, Tenn. native earned second on beam and third on bars.

As a team, No. 18 Kentucky improved to 11-5 on the year with the two tri-meets sweeps. After dropping five straight meets ? all against nationally-ranked teams ? Kentucky has won four straight. The meet marked UK?s third tri-meet/quad-meet of the season, of which they are a combined 7-0. This weekend, Kentucky heads to the West Coast and the campus of Oregon State for a quad meet against the No. 17 Beavers, Washington, Boise State and Seattle Pacific. The meet is slated for 7 p.m. PT.
