LEXINGTON ? The Kentucky baseball coaching staff will hold a free coaching clinic on Saturday, March 11 which is open to any male or female who is interested in learning more about baseball.
The clinic will be held at Nutter Fieldhouse, which is next to Commonwealth Stadium on the UK campus. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with the clinic running from 9 a.m.-Noon.
Wildcat coaches John Cohen, Gary Henderson, Brad Bohannon and Nick Mingione will be on hand to discuss teaching techniques as well as coaching strategies for all in attendange.
Cohen, a two-time Southland Conference Coach of the Year before taking over at UK, has seven years of head coaching experience and is considered one of the top offensive coaches in the country. His Wildcat club currently leads the Southeastern Conference in 10 offensive categories, including runs/game, doubles, home runs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage.
Henderson, Kentucky?s pitching coach, is a former National Assistant Coach of the Year who led Florida to a pair of College World Series Appearances before joining Cohen?s staff. Bohannon is in his third year at UK after playing his college ball at Berry College.
Mingione played in at Embry-Riddle University before spending three years on the coaching staff there. He competed and coached in the NAIA World Series.
Following the clinic, Kentucky takes on North Dakota State at 2 p.m. in game two of the weekend series.
