LEXINGTON ? Kentucky senior pitcher Aaron Tennyson was named to the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll for the week, it was announced Tuesday by the organization.
Tennyson, a 6-4 southpaw, hurled seven shutout innings to earn the victory over two-time defending Patriot League champion Army this past Friday. He allowed only three hits while striking out six and walking only one.
Dating back to last season, the win was the fourth straight for Tennyson, who improved to 7-1 since the beginning of 2005. It also paved the way for Kentucky?s 3-0 weekend, its best start to a season in six years.
Tennyson and the Wildcats return to action this weekend in Beaumont, Texas where they play four games, opening with Arkansas State on Friday afternoon.
