GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Kentucky men?s golf team is currently 14th after two rounds of play in the opening tournament of its spring season. The Wildcats posted a two-round score of 608 (301-307) at the 2006 SunTrust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.

Host-team Florida leads the pack with a team score of 562 (274-288) with one round to play.

Sophomore Brad Doster leads the Wildcats and tied a career-low with a first-round 68. The Winter Park, Fla., native shot a second-round 73 to end the day tied for fourth overall with a total score of 141. Freshman Dan Woltman ended the day with a total of 153 (80-73), followed by junior Tyler Wilson at 156 (76-80). Senior Matt Kohn finished at 159 (77-82), while freshman Andy Winings rounds out the scoring for the Cats with a total of 161 (80-81).

Tulsa posted a team score of 573 to stand 11 strokes behind the Gators in second place. Florida State shot a 577 for third, while Georgia State and LSU round out the top five with scores of 578 and 588, respectively.

Florida?s Brett Stegmaier leads the individual standings with a six-under par 134 (65-69) through two rounds of play. Tulsa?s Nicholas Geyger is second at 139 (70-69), followed by Georgia State?s Mark Haastrup with a two-round total of 140 (70-70). Doster is tied for fourth with Wake Forest?s Kyle Reifers (73-68).

The third and final round is set for Sunday, Feb. 19, in Gainesville. Kentucky will tee off at 8:30 a.m.
