For the second time this season, junior Krystle Cook has been named UK Gymnast of the Week by the coaching staff. Cook led the Cats against No. 3 Alabama last weekend with a career-high 39.125 in the all-around competition. Cook tied for second on bars (9.875) with teammate freshman Natalie Rubinstein and fourth on vault (9.850) and floor (9.825). The Austin, Texas native has now placed first or second in all-around competition in all five meets for UK. For the season, Cook ranks 16th nationally on bars with a 9.845 avg. and 34th in the all-around (38.895 avg.). Other Cats in the top 50 national rankings include Kristen O?Shields (29th, beam) and freshman Heather Hite (34th, beam).
As a team, No. 18 Kentucky (7-1, 1-1) continues SEC action this Friday when it travels to Baton Rouge, La. to take on No. 13 LSU (7-4, 1-1) at 7 p.m. Live scoring for the meet will be available at lsusports.net.
