Senior Alex Hume led the Kentucky men?s tennis team Friday with a pair of victories at the South Florida Spring Invitational in Tampa, Fla.
The 61st-ranked Hume defeated South Florida?s Dillon Brozyna in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 and teamed with Nate Emge to record UK?s lone doubles victory. The No. 40 duo turned back the Bulls? Marc Jaeger and Brozyna 9-7.
In other Kentucky action, seniors Emge and Carey Rubin, as well as sophomore Marcus Sundh, each dropped their lone singles match on the day. The 84th-ranked Emge was upset by USF?s Jaeger 7-5, 6-4. Rubin fell to the Bulls? Federico Barton 6-1, 7-5, and Sundh lost his match to Mark Gattiker when he was forced to retire.
