The Kentucky swimming & diving team will return to action this weekend with a pair of meets. The 18th-ranked men will be taking on the 11th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers Friday at the Lancaster Aquatic Center and on Saturday both the men and women will hit the road to take on Louisville.
Against IU the Kentucky men (5-2, 3-2 SEC) will be competing in their lone meet of the year without the women. Last season the Cats defeated the Hoosiers, UK head coach Gary Conelly?s alma mater, 148-95.
The Cats have won three of four meets since Jan. 3 and have gotten stellar performances all season long from seniors Daniel Farnham and Steven Manley. The two returning All-Americans are coming off tremendous meets against South Carolina. Farnham claimed the 50 and 100 freestyle events in the same meet for the fifth time this year, while Manley won three events against the Gamecocks.
The women (6-3, 4-2 SEC) have also won three of four meets since Jan. 3. Last time out against South Carolina the UK divers scored high marks in the three-meter event with senior Jessica Thompson defeating the Gamecocks? reigning national champion Alison Brennan.
Friday?s home meet will begin at 5 p.m. and Saturday?s meet will begin at 1 p.m. at Louisville?s Ralph Wright Natatorium.
