LEXINGTON ? The Kentucky baseball team continued its academic success this past fall semester as 20 players on the squad registered a 3.0 or better.

Lexington native Collin Cowgill, a sophomore, led the way with a perfect 4.0 and was one of five players with a 3.5 or better. Last year, Cowgill was one of four freshmen and 12 Wildcats overall to make the SEC Academic Honor Roll. The 12 honorees shattered the previous school-best total of nine set the previous year.

In John Cohen?s three years as UK?s head coach, UK has placed 28 players on the SEC Academic Honor Roll and at least seven each year. Prior to Cohen?s arrival, the school record for most honor roll members was seven and the most in any three year span was 17.
