The Kentucky men?s tennis team will conclude its fall schedule this weekend when it heads to Athens, Ga., to take compete in the Bulldog Scramble. The Cats will be taking on some familiar Southeastern Conference rivals in host Georgia, defending SEC co-champions Ole Miss and Florida, as well as South Carolina in this round-robin event similar to dual match play.
UK will be led by senior Alex Hume and freshman Bruno Agostinelli. Hume, the 68th-ranked player in the nation, has recorded 10 victories this fall, while Agostinelli has gotten off to a great start to his collegiate career by registering 11 wins. In Agostinelli?s last tournament, he reached quarterfinals of the ITA Southeast Regional Championships by defeating Florida?s Greg Ouellette, the nation?s No. 14 player.
Joining Hume and Agostinelli in action will be the other five members of the team including sophomore Marcus Sundh who captured the Flight A Singles title at the Louisville Fall Invitational. Sundh also teamed with freshman Shane Collins to capture the Flight A Doubles title in Louisville.
The Bulldog Scramble will also give seniors Nate Emge and Carey Rubin, along with freshman Kenny Hodge their final opportunity to tune up for the spring season.
