The University of Kentucky women?s soccer team will wrap up the regular season this Friday, Oct. 28, when it travels to Nashville, Tenn., to take on No. 20 Vanderbilt. Game time is set for 8 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex. The game will be televised on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 11:30 p.m. ET on Sun Sports.

The Cats enter Friday?s contest with a 7-4-7 overall record and a 3-4-3 mark in the Southeastern Conference which ranks them fifth in the Eastern division. Vandy (14-3-1) is third in the East with a record of 7-2-1 in league play.

This marks the 20th meeting between the Cats and Commodores. Vandy leads 11-8 in the all-time series and snapped a five-game winning streak by UK last season when they defeated Kentucky by a final score of 3-2 in an overtime contest in Lexington on Oct. 29, 2004.

The Commodores are the fourth nationally-ranked opponent for the Cats this season. UK is 0-3 in those matches, falling to No. 20 Florida, No. 13 Tennessee and No. 23 Ole Miss.

With their 4-1 win at Mississippi State in their last outing, the Wildcats clinched a berth in the SEC Tournament, extending their record of 13 consecutive trips to the league tourney. Kentucky remains the only school in the 12-member Southeastern Conference to qualify for each eight-team post-season tournament. UK will make its 13th trip to the tournament, Nov. 3-6, in Orange Beach, Ala.

?I hope we can carry the momentum from Sunday?s game at Mississippi State into the match at Vanderbilt,? said head coach Warren Lipka. ?This will be a very difficult game but I hope we can continue to improve as we head into postseason play at the SEC Tournament next week.?
