The University of Kentucky men?s golf team wrapped up play today at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Windermere, Fla. The Cats jumped two spots on the final day to finish in 10th place after firing a total team score of 911 (300-297-314).

Reigning national champion and Southeastern Conference foe Georgia took home the team title with a score of 872 (287-283-302). Oklahoma State finished in second place with a score of 878 (281-296-301), followed by Georgia Tech with a total of 894 (290-294-310). Arizona State (296-288-315) and Wake Forest (282-287-330) finished with scores of 899 to tie for fourth.

Freshman Dan Woltman led the way for the Cats on the final day of play, shooting a 73 (+1) to finish tied for sixth in the individual standings. Woltman jumped 17 spots with his third-round 73 to compile a total score of 219 (75-71-73). Senior Matt Kohn finished 22nd overall with a score of 224 (77-70-77). Brad Doster posted a third-round 84 to finish at 234 (74-76-84), while Andy Winings ended with a score of 240 (74-81-85). Tyler Wilson rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats with a total of 241 (81-80-80).

?This was a fairly disappointing finish for us but this is a great field and a great course,? said head coach Brian Craig. ?We played against some very difficult conditions. I think we learned a lot that will help us in the future, particularly when we get to the postseason, by playing a golf course like this.

?I?m proud of Dan Woltman. He played great and pretty much carried us to the finish,? added Craig. ?He played extremely well and very proud of him.?

The Cats return to action Nov. 11-13 as they wrap up the fall season at Hooters Collegiate Match Play at Mission Inn in Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla.
