Junior Kim Coventry will represent the Wildcat tennis team in singles competition and will team with Joelle Schwenk in doubles action at the 2005 Riviera/ITA Women?s All-American Tennis Championships beginning Tuesday at the legendary Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
The 15th-ranked Coventry is coming off a strong showing at the UK Fall Invitational where she won four singles matches to take first place in the Flight A bracket.
Coventry will also team with Schwenk in doubles competition at this tournament. The No. 9 duo in the nation captured the Flight A doubles title this past weekend at the UK Fall Invitational.
The Riviera/ITA Women?s All-American Tennis Championships is the first of three national collegiate championships played during the 2005-06 season. The Championships will begin with a qualifying tournament, Oct. 4-5, which will consist of 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams. The qualifying tournament will feed into the main draw competition which is scheduled to begin Oct. 6. Thirty-nine of the top-40 singles players in the nation will be competing in this year?s tournament.
