The University of Kentucky men?s golf team ranks third after one round of play at the NCAA Preview in Sunriver, Ore., at Sunriver Resort’s Crosswater Course.

The Wildcats posted a team score of 290 (+3), trailing leader and defending national champion Georgia who fired a first-round 284 (-4) to lead the 15-team field. UNLV is second at 290 (+2), followed by UK at third, while Arizona State (292) and Georgia Tech (294) round out the top five.

Andy Winings stands atop the leaderboard and led the Wildcats with a first-round 69. He is tied with UNLV?s Seung-su Han and Georgia?s Brian Harman. The freshman birdied four holes on the front nine and added a fifth to finish three under par for the day.

Fellow freshman Dan Woltman is tied for 16th at one-under on the day. Woltman recorded three birdies on the day to finish at 73. Senior Matt Kohn posted a score of 74 to tie for 27th overall, followed by Tyler Wilson with a three-over-par 75. Brad Doster rounded out the scores for UK with a first-round 77 (+5).

Play continues Tuesday, Sept. 27, as the Wildcats are set to tee off at 11 a.m.
