LEXINGTON — Kentucky goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum was named to the Professional Development League Team of the Week on Tuesday for the second straight week.
Playing for the Des Moines Menace, Gruenebaum has earned three shutouts and has recorded 18 saves in the first six games of the season while leading his team to the top of the PDL Heartland Division.
?A keeper as skilled as Gruenebaum is a great addition to the team,? Menace coach Casey Mann said. ?He?s been solid and kept us in some big games so far.?
In Gruenebaum?s first season with the Menace leads the league in goals against average (GAA) at 0.47 in 580 minutes played. The Overland Park, Kan., native is also tied for second in the conference in shutouts.
