Former University of Kentucky golfer John Holmes continues to receive accolades for his contribution to the Wildcats? best season in school history. Holmes has earned PING second team All-America honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Holmes was named to the first team as a junior, honorable mention as a sophomore and third team as a freshman at Kentucky.

Holmes? seventh-place finish at the NCAA Tournament helped the Wildcats to a seventh-place team finish. The Campbellsville, Ky., native was named the Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Year and finished in the top 10 in eight of 13 tournaments this season. He recently competed for Team USA in the Palmer Cup and led the Americans to a 14-10 win over Team Europe in that event.

Joining Holmes on the second team are Brigham Young?s Oscar Alvarez, David Denham, Chris Kirk and Brendon Todd of Georgia, Augusta State?s Kalle Edberg, Oklahoma State?s Tyler Leon, Jeff Overton of Indiana and Chan Song and Nicholas Thompson of Georgia Tech.

Ryan Blaum of Duke, Georgia Tech?s Roberto Castro, Rhys Davies of East Tennessee State, Florida?s Matt Every, Anthony Kim of Oklahoma, Washington?s James Lepp, Spencer Levin of New Mexico, Oklahoma State?s Pablo Martin, Ryan Moore of UNLV, Georgia Southern?s Aron Price and Michael Putnam of Pepperdine were named to the PING All-America first team.
