Each of the University of Kentucky field event athletes who competed at the Mt. SAC Relays Sunday in Walnut, Calif., recorded regional qualifying marks in their respective events.

Sophomore Andy Fryman finished fourth in the men?s open shot put recording a heave of 55-05, while senior Jeff Chakouian threw 61-02 ? in the shot put men?s invitational. Senior Ildiko Varga recorded a regional qualifying toss of 170-08 in the women?s discus throw to finish in eighth place. Freshman Michael Mason was the last to compete for UK, as he tallied a leap of 6-10 ? in the men?s high jump invitational.

The track and field squads return to action at the Titan Invitational in San Diego, Calif., on April 22-23.
