Men's Tennis

No. 12 Kentucky will take the seventh seed and meet 10th-seeded Vanderbilt on Thursday in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Men?s Tennis Tournament, the league announced Sunday.

The Cats and Commodores will do battle beginning at approximately 6 p.m. EDT Thursday at Georgia?s Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens. Kentucky and Vanderbilt certainly are not strangers to one another. UK claimed a 5-2 decision over the Commodores on Saturday in Nashville, and Kentucky earned a 4-3 victory over Vanderbilt last season in Lexington, as well.

Kentucky is the only school in the league to make the semifinals of the last four SEC tournaments. UK must defeat Vanderbilt on Thursday and second-seeded Florida on Friday to continue the streak. Should Kentucky knock off the Commodores in the opening round, the Cats will meet Florida on Friday at 6 p.m. EDT.
