LEXINGTON, Ky. ? Kentucky senior golfers Matt Wells and Stacy Springer were named to the Southeastern Conference Golf Good Works Team the league office announced Thursday. The Good Works Team highlights a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Wells, a marketing and management major has been an avid volunteered in the Lexington community. The Wilmington, N.C., native has worked teaching character lessons to elementary school students in ?Cats Cultivating Character? program. He has been active in Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life for American Cancer Society, YMCA and the Hope Center. He has also visited patients at the UK Children?s Hospital. An integrated strategic communications major, Springer has helped citizens in the Lexington and surrounding communities as a student-athlete. She is active in the Makenna Foundation, helping to raise funds for the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital and has volunteered with ?Cats Cultivating Character? and has visited children at local elementary schools. The St. Charles, Ill., native has also spent time with the Salvation Army and the Hope Center.
