Senior Chuck Hayes has been named to the 2004-05 Associated Press All-America Team as an honorable mention, it was announced Wednesday.

The Modesto, Calif., native has averaged 10.7 ppg and a team-leading 7.9 rebounds per game this season. He eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark on Jan. 15 and is currently 36th on the all-time UK scoring list. He is also top 10 in career rebounds (901 – 6th) and blocked shots (128 – 9th). His 109 starts are 3rd all time and with 108 straight, needs only two more to tie the Kentucky record set by Alex Groza.

The 6-6 forward received First Team All-SEC honors from the league coaches and the Associated Press. He was also named the Defensive Player of the Year by the SEC coaches.
