No. 30 Kentucky completed a flawless day of tennis Tuesday at the Boone Tennis Center, sweeping a day-night doubleheader against Ohio Valley Conference foes Murray State and Eastern Kentucky. The Cats dealt the Racers a 7-0 defeat before setting aside the Colonels by a 6-0 count in the nightcap.
Eight different Wildcats saw action throughout the day. Senior Matt Emery, junior Carey Rubin and freshmen Nolan Polley and Marcus Sundh picked up two wins apiece. Senior Tigran Martirosyan defeated Eastern Kentucky?s Tom Wospil in straight sets, and sophomore Matt Allinder dispatched Murray State?s Craig Jacobs, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Nate Emge added a straight-set win over Murray?s Fadi Zamjaoui, and junior Alex Hume picked up his sixth win in his last seven matches, defeating Eastern?s Chase Armstrong, 6-0, 6-0.
Kentucky (10-6, 1-3) returns to conference play Friday at LSU.
