BATON ROUGE, La. – The University of Kentucky women?s golf team ended day one tied for ninth, with a score of 311, at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La. LSU is atop the 16-team field at 8-over-par, after shooting 296 for the first 18 holes.

North Carolina Wilmington, who claimed the tournament title in 2004, ended day one tied with UK for ninth.

The Cats were led by junior Ali Kicklighter who finished tied for 20th after the first round. Kicklighter shot four-over-par (76), while freshman Beth Felts sits tied for 24th, after recording a first round 77. UK freshman Elizabeth Dotson and senior Katie Dixon both opened the tournament shooting 79 for the first 18 holes. Lexington, Ky., native, Katie Johnson carded a first round 81, while sophomore Alanna Silvertrust, who is playing as an individual, shot 79 for round one and is tied for 40th.

Tournament play will continue at 8:30 a.m. CST Saturday at The University Club, which is a 6,265 yard, par 72 course. UK will be paired with College of Charleston and Louisville for the first tee time at 8:30 a.m. on the first hole. Silvertrust will tee off on the tenth hole at 9:06 a.m. There will be a shotgun start to begin the final round Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
