Junior Bethany Strauch is the latest UK ?Gymnast of the Week? as chosen by the coaching staff. Strauch?s performance on beam helped UK finish second at the Colonial Classic in Washington, D.C. Strauch kept her composer, after her teammates fell on beam, and tied for third with a mark of 9.65. Strauch has notched five 9.75 marks or higher on beam for the Wildcats.

?Bethany has done a remarkable job of staying focused no matter what the situation,? said UK head coach Mo Muhammad. ?She has held her own on beam and is an anchor that we have depended on all season.?

The Lawrenceville, Ga., native has been a solid competitor for the Cats all season on beam. Strauch recorded a season-high 9.8 vs. a very tough LSU team and came through with 9.775s vs. Bowling Green State, at Nebraska and against Michigan State and Central Michigan.
